Saint Paul Public Schools engages in a process of continuous improvement. At the school level, a major tool in the improvement process is the School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP). The SCIP is a strategic document that district schools utilize to identify annual improvement priorities at each school.
2016-'17 LEAP School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP)
The 2016-2017 LEAP School Continuous Improvement Plan (SCIP) has been completed. After reviewing data from MAP, MCA, WIDA and teacher assessments, LEAP School is going to work to improve performance in four areas: Reading, Math, Graduation, College and Career Readiness, and Culture and Climate at LEAP High School.
For the 2016-2017 school year, we will be implementing Close Analytic Reading in all the content area classrooms (except for math). This strategy will help improve student reading comprehension and prepare them for college and careers. In Math classes, we will be implementing the math talks strategy. This strategy will build student skills around Number and Operations and speaking by using Number Talks. We will continue to identify the senior cohort and prepare them for graduation. We will incorporate career readiness at all levels, beginning with level 1C. We will expose our students to multiple college and career options early on in their LEAP schooling. We will expand our popular and service oriented Ambassador Program to level 2A and have more events and activities to celebrate student achievements.
If you want more information about the SCIP or are interested in getting involved in our SCIP and school, please contact Principal Rose Santos at 651-228-7706.
