Supporting Your Student from Home

Gordon Parks’ parents joined staff to develop the following ideas about how families can support student success. 

• Talk to your student, ask them about what they are learning or what they are struggling with. Share your experiences in school and why you think education is important.
• Sign up for and check Parent Portal frequently. Parent Portal is a onestop shop, where you record your participation and can check grades, attendance, lunch menus and so much more. • Contact teachers and counselors to track your student’s progress:

• Attend as many classes as possible.
