Ms. Dishong

Hello! My name is Andrea Dishong and I am your new school nurse. I am very excited to be at Gordon Parks. The staff have been so welcoming and the students offer such an exciting and fulfilling change compared to the elementary school I came from.

I started as a school nurse in 2019 at our neighboring school district, but the bulk of my nursing career has been in the Emergency Department where I worked for 14 years. During that time, I worked at North Memorial Hospital and then moved to Fairview Southdale Hospital. Before becoming a nurse, I studied Humanities and taught in a variety of settings. So, working as a nurse in a school is the perfect combination for me!

I live in Minneapolis with my husband, two kids, one dog and one cat. I’m still thinking of hobbies I’d like to have, but I am definitely proficient in TV/Movie watching!
